Dr. Shadie Ghaffari Dan is a southern California native, born and raised in Santa Monica. She finished her undergraduate education at the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. During her time off she enjoyed working as a life guard at the beach in the pacific palisades, and taking care of her cat Shay. After achieving her life goal of becoming a veterinarian at Western University of Health Sciences, she completed a 1 year small animal surgery and medicine internship at VCA West Los Angeles. She then began working at Bay Animal Hospital in 2014.
While at Western University of Health Sciences she met her fiancée who was studying to become a family physician. They enjoy spending time together at the beach surfing, scuba diving, running and enjoying the outdoors. When they are not working they have their hands full with their two cats, Addison (a sassy calico tabby) and Stewie (a very talkative Himalayan mix) that they rescued while she was a student and intern.
